FINANCE OFFICE STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Position Opening:       Finance Office Assistant (20 to 25 hours per week)

The Franciscan Friars of the Province of St. John the Baptist, Cincinnati, OH seek an accountant to assist the Chief Financial Officer by providing various aspects of financial and administrative recordkeeping, reporting, and Friar support.  Accounting duties include:  accounts payable, check processing, deposits, general ledger, bank reconciliations, journal entries, budget loading, and internal auditing procedures.  Clerical duties include assisting with management of Province health insurance plan, Medicare, Social Security, vehicle fleet database management, report distribution, organizing, maintaining, archiving, and purging files, data entry, computer backups, and other duties assigned. 

Confidentiality, a service oriented attitude, computer proficiency in Excel, Word, and Access are desired; knowledge of fund accounting, BUCS accounting software and/or experience in a service position a plus.  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and previous experience in accounting required.

DIRECTOR OF LITURGICAL MUSIC – St. Julie Billiart, Hamilton, OH (Posted 5/18/09)

St. Julie Billiart Parish in downtown Hamilton Ohio is looking for a director of liturgical music.  Primary responsibilities include one Saturday evening and two Sunday morning English Masses, holyday Masses, development of choir and cantors, and sacramental celebrations such as Communal Reconciliation.  Candidates should be well-grounded in liturgical principles, comfortable with leading the assembly in song, and demonstrate competency with both organ and piano.  The Director of Liturgical Music participates in monthly meetings of the Pastoral Staff.  In addition to over 800 registered households, the Parish is also one of the centers for Hispanic Ministry in the Archdiocese.  Candidates should be comfortable with occasional bi-lingual liturgies.
