Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains 

Each panel above the nave columns displays an angel executed in black, red and gold; the same colors are used in the molding and borders of the coffered ceiling. This artwork displays the classic Greek influence once again. The delicate designs are borrowed from Greek vases, especially the Athenian lekythoi (perfume urns), which featured such figures painted in black over a white or buff background.
