I found that there are so many Catholic/Christian websites, many of which send send you a daily email (such as IteMissaEst.org). I have been using my smart phone to access these sites for more than a year. I recently got a Tablet and it is very nice to have the larger print!

You're right Archbishop. Our Catholicism isn't merely a set of beliefs. It is who we ARE down to our very core.

I had that same experience. I discovered that I had forgotten to pack my breviary when my wife and I went to Italy. I was able to download morning and evening prayer every day onto my smart phone. I now find myself praying often and in many places throughout the day. What a blessing!

When I was a kid -some time ago :o)- the saying was that if you could save the Ash wednesday "ashes Cross" on your forehead, the parish priest would donate you a new dress or new suit for the boys. Can you imagine how careful we washed our faces in order not to erase the Cross, and our parents just played the game with us. None of us kids ever managed to keep it till Easter :0(

For years I contemplated for weeks prior to Lent what I would give up. I still, yearly give up all forms of sugar. I also make a more concentrated effort to give something back to the community. Giving back benefits the community and me for much longer than the 40 days. Sister, thanks for reminding me how I’ve evolved over the years…hopefully into a kinder gentler human being.

I, too, have discovered the excitement and wonder of the technical revolution! Prior to purchasing an I Pad I wondered exactly what I would use it for.
I now use it DAILY! Yes, I play games and read email BUT I have also downloaded the Ite Missa Est App and read reflections & listen to pod casts daily. I have downloaded recommended books by Bonhoeffer & Rohr that I am able to read instantly! The ease of using this "geeky" device has enabled me to more easily connect to my spirituality and do this on a more regular basis. Keep technology coming!!!
