FOCCUS & REFOCCUS
FOCCUS is a
156-item user-friendly marriage preparation inventory.
REFOCCUS is a
marriage enrichment tool used with married couples in groups or as
individual couples to assist them in recognizing their marriage as unique
and responding to its nuances in an ongoing process.
The FOCCUS &
REFOCCUS inventories are designed for use by professional, clerical and
lay facilitators of marriage preparation and marriage enrichment. Both
instruments have high reliability and validity and are designed to
increase couple awareness and discussion based on their unique profile.
Both are easily integrated into many different marriage preparation and
enrichment programs.

Facilitator Training Fees
Participants will:
understand how to use FOCCUS in their work with couples in their
parish, individually or in a group setting
become familiar with the various editions of FOCCUS as well as
REFOCCUS
understand how to facilitate couple discussion and problem solving
learn three scoring options for the FOCCUS inventory
discover ways to discuss issues couples need to address, based on
unique FOCCUS sections and/or response patterns regarding careers,
domestic violence, challenges for interfaith couples, remarriage
couples, and cohabiting couples, family of origin patterns, and
understanding of individual and couple spirituality
recognize how to adapt FOCCUS to their parishs unique marriage
preparation process
receive all the materials necessary to facilitate the instrument with
an engaged couple
