Services:

The director: serves and assists the archbishop in meeting the pastoral needs of the African American Community; serves as the archdiocesan liaison to Pastors Ministering in African American Communities (PMAAC); assists PMAAC in identifying and naming the African American Catholic presence in the archdiocese; assists PMAAC in meeting the spiritual and worship needs of their faith communities; represents the African American Catholic Community in the various archdiocesan discussions that may directly affect the spiritual health of their faith communities; provides ministerial opportunities for African American Catholic lay people; and administers the Archbishop Alter Scholarship Program.

Mission:

The Office of African American Catholic Ministries in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, PMAAC, pastors, pastoral administrators, pastoral associates and other lay leaders is committed to serving the needs of the African American Catholic Communities. The director through consultation with these recognized leaders will develop a pastoral approach to serve God's people with a spiritual fervor and zeal. An approach that will be rooted in the "Black experience" of faith, a faith filled with hope and joy. A faith that understands that our God has done great things!
