The Office of African American Catholic Ministries assists the Archbishop to identify the pastoral needs of the African American Catholic Community and the African American Communities within the boundaries of the Archdiocese.  The Office of African American helps facilitate the ongoing discussions that directly affect the spiritual health of the African American Catholic Community and provides ministerial formation opportunities for its members.  The office of African American Catholic Ministries administers the Archbishop Alter Scholarship Fund which provides monies for African American Catholic students to attend a university or college of their choice.

Mission:
The Office of African American Catholic Ministries in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and the recognized leaders [ordained and laypersons] of the African American Catholic Community is committed to providing material and physical resources in order to facilitate the spiritual growth of its members.  The director will develop a pastoral approach to address the ever-changing needs of these faith communities in an effort to empower them to name and to appreciate their "Blackness" and their Catholic faith. A faith rooted in the mercy and grace of an Almighty God!
