The Archdiocese of Cincinnati puts the focus on African with an educational Africa Summit Meeting from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 28 at Purcell Marion High School, sponsored by the Mission Office, Office of African American Ministries and Catholic Social Action Office.
The morning keynote speaker, Paul Miller, Africa Team Leader and Policy Advisor for Catholic Relief Services in Baltimore, will be speak on “Why Americans Should Care about Africa.” In the afternoon keynote address, Dr. John Kalubi, director of the African and African American Studies Department at the University of Cincinnati, will discuss “African Empowerment Locally and Globally.”
Participants also will have the opportunity to choose from among 10 workshop options for two break sessions.

After the summit, Cincinnati Coadjutor Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr will offer Mass at 4 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church, with Bishop Gabriel Mante of the Diocese of Jasikan, Ghana, concelebrating.
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati is the 26th largest Catholic diocese in the country, with almost 500,000 Catholics, and has the eighth largest network of Catholic schools in terms of enrollment. The 19-county territory includes 220 parishes and 113 Catholic primary and secondary schools.
