St. James of the Valley is seeking  a qualified Custodian.  This person will provide coordinated janitorial services for the school and church along with set-up and cleaning services for evening or weekend activities in the parish facilities.  This job is physically demanding.  The custodian must spend the entire time standing, walking, lifting heavy objects, operating medium cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, sweeping and mopping floors and moving desks and furniture.

 
This person must possess physical ability to perform janitorial skills; have the ability to perform tasks with minimum supervision; must be self-motivated; have some general knowledge or willingness to learn about janitorial supplies and their applications.
 

This position requires frequent evening and/or weekend hours; on call availability;  standing and working for long periods.

The Archdiocese of Cincinnati is looking to fill the position of Director of Certification.  This position directs and oversees the certification of all educators, including substitute teachers and instructional aides in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati schools.   Responsible for responding to questions, issues and concerns regarding certification and fingerprinting; serves as Chairperson of the Archdiocese Local Professional Development Committee and establishes guidelines for the LPDC in consultation with the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio Diocesan LPDC Chairperson and the Archdiocesan Oversight Committee.  Directs the Archdiocesan Elementary and High School Local Professional Development Committees, maintaining consistency among committees and providing information, leadership and assistance to LPDC members; maintains certification records including experience records, archived records and the web-based Educator Data Center with current information for principals and teachers.

 

The candidate should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Education; at least three years’ of service in school administration (principal experience and Catholic school experience preferred); strong organizational skills; ability to work positively and collaboratively; high aptitude in information technologies and must be a practicing Catholic with a personal faith commitment.

Major Responsibilities:

• Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading, and speaking.
• Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new software. Raiser’s Edge and Auction experience would be helpful.
• A genuine love for events management, provide outstanding customer service, display enthusiasm, and able to build relationships both internally and externally.
• Attention to detail and high expectations for quality. Able to meet goals and deadlines.
• Valid license to travel locally, plus flexibility to work late, early, and some weekends.
• Able to lift/carry items up to 30 pounds for set-up and tear down.

The Diocese of Portland, Maine is currently seeking the next Superintendent of Maine Catholic Schools to provide Spirit-filled, innovative, and executive leadership for 10 schools serving 2059 students located throughout the State of Maine, and to serve as the Bishop’s representative to three private, Catholic schools.   The Superintendent of Catholic Schools serves as the chief school administrator providing day-to-day advice and consultation to pastors, presidents, principals and local school boards; provides guidance and direction on long and short-term planning, budgeting, financial, instructional standards, contract and staffing issues.  The Superintendent of Catholic Schools reports to the Bishop of the Diocese of Portland, is a member of the Episcopal Council, and collaborates with the Diocesan School Board.

 

The future Superintendent will take responsibility for carefully monitoring and insuring the faith formation of both students and faculty, the academic performance of students, and the professional excellence of school staffs, while effectively and creatively addressing ongoing challenges in the areas of affordability, accessibility, enrollment and the strategic management of tuition assistance funding, particularly as they apply to a vastly demographically diverse diocese that encompasses the entire State of Maine.

 

The candidate must be a practicing Catholic with proven ability to articulate and embrace the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church as well as the diocesan evangelization vision as outlined in the document Telling Anew the Story of Jesus (see www.PortlandDiocese.org).
