The Director of Mission & Ministry is responsible for the leadership and vision of Mission and Ministry at Mount St. Joseph University.  The Director is an advocate for the spiritual life of the University community including empowering students, faculty, and staff to build a strong faith community on campus, as well as discerning what the needs of the community are and trying to meet those needs.

Masters Degree required in Theology or related field and have Catholic Campus Ministry Association (CCMA) certification or willingness to pursue certification.

St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio is seeking to hire a qualified Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. Serving the demographics of elementary school, middle school, high school, and young adults, the principal duties in this full-time, exempt position are to 1) Coordinate the middle school youth ministry program (currently EDGE). 2) Create, coordinate, and evaluate the parish young adult ministry. 3) Work closely with the Regional DRE in the development and coordination of the first communion and confirmation programs and high school youth ministry.
 
Qualifications:
The candidate must have fidelity to the teachings of the Catholic Church, as well as demonstrable understanding of the Catholic Church’s mission in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. The candidate should be familiar with, and faithful to, all USCCB and diocesan guidelines promulgated for youth and young adult ministry. The candidate should possess basic understandings of youth ministry principles, methods of youth evangelization, principles and methods of adolescent catechesis, principles and models of youth retreats, adolescent development, leadership development, youth ministry resources and their application to adolescents, and knowledge of diocesan and national guidelines and trends in youth ministry. In addition to youth ministry, there is a high population of young families in our parish. It would be the task of the candidate to creatively compose a plan to involve, catechize, and evangelize this growing population of young adults.
 
The ideal candidate will have the ability to joyfully ‘introduce’ young people to the saving Lamb of God. As such, he or she will be especially Eucharistic. He or she will possess the ability to address modern issues relevant to young people with the Mind and Heart of the Church. Familiarity with the theologies of St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Therese of Lisieux, John Paul II – as well as earnest devotion to the Blessed Mother – are especially helpful to this end.
 
Candidates should possess basic organization and management skills – as well as strong leadership abilities and effective communication skills. Basic computer design as well as knowledge of parish-related software such as ParishSoft is greatly desired. Candidates should have the ability to work charitably and collaboratively with others, to react positively to adversity, and to work closely with a pastor who is energetic, involved, passionate, and direct.
 
Education, Training, and/or Experience:
BA (required) in Philosophy, Theology, Catechetics or related field. Catechist certification preferred (or the potential to complete within the first year). Candidates should have, at minimum, one year working in a leadership capacity with teenagers in the parish setting, including the successful development and implementation of one or more components of a holistic youth ministry and young adult program.

The Catholic Communities of Northwest Dayton (St. Rita, Precious Blood and St. Paul (Englewood) is searching for a part time Director of Adult Faith Formation. The selected person will be responsible for driving and implementing the adult faith formation ministry and RCIA program in the pastoral region. The Director of AFF must participate as an active member of the regional catechetical and pastoral staffs and be an active, practicing Catholic.

The major responsibilities of the position are:

  • Takes leadership in helping the pastoral region to shape its goals and strategies for adult faith formation according to the vision of Our Hearts Were Burning within Us.
  • Maintains a good relationship with the Archdiocesan Offices of Religious Education and New Evangelization for consultation, support and resourcing.
  • Plans and tends to their ongoing formation through participation in opportunities for professional development.
  • Recruits and forms an effective AFF Committee to help develop and implement the vision and regional goals for adult formation.
  • Works with AFF Committee and regional staff to provide and promote effective, comprehensive adult faith formation programming.
  • Manages and conducts program evaluations and region-wide assessments to determine program effectiveness and opportunities to refine efforts.
  • Coordinates advertising, registration and collection of program fees.
  • Coordinates recruitment and hospitality for out-of-region speakers and presenters.
  • Directs the entire regional RCIA and RCIC process—including, but not limited to, Tuesday meeting nights, Sunday Mass dismissals, rites, scrutiny’s and retreats.
  • Coordinates the RCIC with the Children’s Faith Formation Director, along with other programs and activities as necessary.
  • Manages the individual parish adult libraries and learning centers.
  • Participates in the regional Intergenerational Planning Committee.
  • Reports to and performs other duties and activities as assigned by the Pastor.

The selected candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in Theology or Religious Studies, (or the equivalent), and possess current certification as a Catechetical Leader. The successful candidate will be PC proficient and possess a willingness to work evenings and weekends. This person must also attend and participate in all regional staff meetings and coordinate with other staff members to build up the faith in our parishes.
