The Archdiocese of Cincinnati seeks a person to fulfill the duties of Northern Area Coordinator for the Catholic Social Action Office. This is a 21 hour per week position located in the Dayton area. It may occasionally include nights and weekends. The position combines both the coordination of some ministerial duties to the northern part of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati with administrative assistant duties for the office. The coordinator will assist in the Catholic Social Teaching formation and social ministry work in the St. Marys and Sidney Deaneries. The employee also performs a variety of secretarial tasks, including the operation of advanced office equipment and computer applications.

 

The Coordinator should possess the following qualifications: Requires a high school diploma and 1-2 years post-high school or the equivalent; minimum of 5 years’ experience in office work and Catholic social justice ministry; good phone and people skills, including an ability to relate well face-to-face with diverse constituencies; understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and involvement in social justice issues; willingness to work as a team, both receiving direction and identifying solutions in a ministerial field; knowledge of modern office procedures and methods, including telephone, e-mail, personal computer, word processing, copier, facsimile, scanner and other office systems and record keeping; knowledge of modern business communication, including style and format of letters, memoranda, minutes and reports; ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without constant supervision; ability to handle and resolve recurring problems; typing skill of at least 35 words per minute; and attention to detail.

The Catholic Communities of Northwest Dayton (St. Rita, Precious Blood and St. Paul (Englewood) is searching for a part time Director of Adult Faith Formation. The selected person will be responsible for driving and implementing the adult faith formation ministry and RCIA program in the pastoral region. The Director of AFF must participate as an active member of the regional catechetical and pastoral staffs and be an active, practicing Catholic.

  • Coordinates recruitment and hospitality for out-of-region speakers and presenters.
  • Directs the entire regional RCIA and RCIC process—including, but not limited to, Tuesday meeting nights, Sunday Mass dismissals, rites, scrutiny’s and retreats.
  • Coordinates the RCIC with the Children’s Faith Formation Director, along with other programs and activities as necessary.
  • Manages the individual parish adult libraries and learning centers.
  • Participates in the regional Intergenerational Planning Committee.
  • Reports to and performs other duties and activities as assigned by the Pastor.

The selected candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in Theology or Religious Studies, (or the equivalent), and possess current certification as a Catechetical Leader. The successful candidate will be PC proficient and possess a willingness to work evenings and weekends. This person must also attend and participate in all regional staff meetings and coordinate with other staff members to build up the faith in our parishes.

The NEXT Internship is a 10-month-long full-time internship where interns will gain skills and experience in junior high and high school retreats, including faith sharing, small and large group facilitation, leading praise & worship music, event coordination, leading prayer experiences and group initiatives. Interns live together in an intentional faith community on the grounds of the Center in the historic Rock House.
