The Chief Advancement Officer is a visible advocate and leader responsible for planning and executing institutional capital and annual fundraising plans that advance annual, major gift, and planned giving programs. This individual will supervise the overall development program of the school.
The successful candidate will possess a record of leadership and achievement in the field of development with a proven track record of fundraising success, especially with annual giving, campaign planning/execution and in major gift solicitations. Strong organizational, supervisory, and leadership capabilities are required. Exemplary interpersonal skills are essential as is the ability to affect favorably sophisticated volunteers and donors.
The candidate also will display a personal commitment to the mission of Archbishop Moeller High School. The ability to work effectively with many constituencies including; Trustees, alumni, school personnel, parents, students and other school constituent groups is highly valued. Other important characteristics include a strong work ethic, personal integrity, excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and planning skills. Evidence of a commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth is helpful.
A bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of seven to ten years of progressively-responsible experience in advancement, preferably in independent schools, colleges, universities, or other dynamic non-profit development programs is required.
