Title VIA Missionary
Categories Administrative Openings
Location Archdiocese of Cincinnati, 100 E. Eighth St., Cincinnati, OH 45202
Job Information

The Office for Youth Evangelization and Discipleship is seeking qualified missionaries to serve as part of the VIA Missionary Initiative in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

Our office exists for the 404,649 youth of the Archdiocese — that they might be brought into communion with Christ. We are so blessed to have many youth and campus ministers joining us on the Way. Yet, we are also aware of the roughly 50% of our parishes that have no youth ministry program, no youth minister, and no one to bear that witness and invitation to our young people in the unique way that they so desperately need. We are aware that in some parishes, we have a people problem.   The VIA Missionary Initiative was born out of a desire to begin remedying this problem. It also seeks to be a vibrant expression of the mission of VIA, our way of life, while being a leaven of evangelization and discipleship to the youth, parishes, and individuals of the Archdiocese.

Through this initiative we will be seeking candidates to make a two-year commitment to an understaffed parish for the sake of jump-starting youth ministry. These missionaries support-raise their own salary and our Office will provide extensive formation, mentoring, retreat, and pilgrimage opportunities as well as housing, continuing education opportunities and community life. These missionaries are sent out two-by-two and live in community with other VIA Missionaries.
