Seeking a part-time organist to provide accompaniment for the congregation and various ensembles to include three weekend liturgies (down to two weekend liturgies starting in July 2015), choir rehearsals one evening a week during the choir year (nine months out of the year), Holy Week/Easter, Christmas, and Holy Days, and others para-liturgical events as planned (monthly adoration, etc.). Weekly preludes/postludes, chosen by the organist, are desired. Weddings and funerals extra. Flexible summer schedule available.


Organist should have a working knowledge of chant accompaniment techniques, appreciation for the liturgical patrimony of sacred music in the church, and embrace Progressive Solemnity and how it relates to proper organ registration and music selection. The successful candidate will demonstrate skill and creativity in the areas of accompanying, service playing, and possible improvisation. Hispanic music ministry experience a plus. Music is chosen by the Director of Music and is drawn primarily from The St. Michael Hymnal, in addition to a growing choral music repertoire. The Archdiocese of Cincinnati Financial Services Department is looking to fill the position of Parish Auditor. This position, under the supervision of the Senior Parish Auditor, reviews the financial records and financial management processes at parishes and schools to ensure compliance with Archdiocesan standards and policies. The Parish Auditor prepares detailed reports on parish internal controls findings, making appropriate recommendations to the Senior Auditor for the purpose of improving parish internal controls, financial operations and business processes.

Interested candidates should have the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or business administration from an accredited college or university.
• One to three years of professional experience in finance or accounting; auditing experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of the non-profit environment and familiarity with the workings of the Catholic Church is preferred.
• A desire to serve the Church. The candidate must have a disposition to act collaboratively with the parish and school.
This is a full-time, 35-hour/week position. Work days are Monday through Friday, however, the hours worked are extremely flexible in order to accommodate parish and school schedules. Additionally, the job requires the individual attend occasional evening finance committee meetings at parishes. Finally, candidates will need to have reliable, accessible transportation as this position requires frequent travel throughout the Archdiocese to the parishes and schools.

The Community of the Good Shepherd, a large Catholic Cincinnati suburban parish, seeks a Music Minister.  The job is at least part time but could be developed into a full time position.


Part time position includes:   The primary focus of this job includes direction of an established Contemporary Mass Worship Group (Mass held weekly on Sunday at 4 p.m.). The job includes planning of repertoire and integration of participatory aids (CCLI, etc.) with existing AV projection equipment. The music minister will serve as the keyboardist or guitarist in the group. The contemporary group utilizes the services of paid professional side musicians and vocalists, who rehearse prior to the mass on Sunday afternoons.   This job also includes a Saturday 4:30 p.m. mass with a folk ensemble, utilizing paid professionals and also volunteer choir members, with a weekly rehearsal for this group.  This mass utilizes Gather Comprehensive 2nd edition and also a parish supplement.  This musical group wishes to develop prelude selections from traditional, folk, and American Gospel traditions.


In addition, the job could be full time depending on the skills and commitment level of the musician.  Added responsibilities would include recruiting and establishing a vibrant and joyous children’s choir, working with children’s liturgies, working with Faith Formation teaching liturgical music, and assisting the Director of Music by providing music for other weekly and daily parish liturgies, rehearsals, funerals, etc.


The ideal candidate should be a skilled musical leader of the assembly who is accomplished in either piano/organ or guitar, with a degree in music, experience in planning Catholic liturgies, using a variety of liturgical musical styles and must also be an effective and enthusiastic director in settings with volunteer musicians. The candidate should be an organized and collaborative individual who is proficient in technology, including MS Office and Finale notation software.
