St. Leonard Faith Community (SLFC) seeks a full-time Pastoral Administrator to serve the needs of our Community. The SLFC is a 180 household Roman Catholic faith community that operates as a small parish on the grounds of the St. Leonard Senior Living Community in Centerville, Ohio. An ordained priest serves as our part-time chaplain/moderator. The Pastoral Administrator works closely with the chaplain/moderator, the office staff, and the pastoral council, and assists the treasurer and finance council. The Pastoral Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the community and assists the chaplain/moderator in his function of liaison between the Faith Community and the diocesan church, St. Leonard Senior Living Community, local churches, and the community. Additionally, the candidate should take a leadership role in developing innovative strategies for increasing the size and fervor of our community. The Pastoral Administrator must understand the special nature of the Community and make decisions that keep the community vital and active.
The primary function of this position is to enable ongoing Faith Community life, including administrative, fiscal , pastoral, and liturgical responsibilities. The position requires organization, delegation, and communication skills, and evening, Sunday, and on-call availability. SLFC expects the Pastoral Administrator to be accessible, and to possess good people skills that enable him or her to work well with a variety of personalities and ministries. A Master’s degree in administration, liturgy, or religious education and five years of relevant experience is desirable.
