The Archives of the Chancery
100 E. Eighth Street
Cincinnati, OH 45202
The Archives holds microfiche copies of baptism, marriage, and death registers of every open and closed parish in the Archdiocese. Please note that the Archives does not have the sacramental registers for parishes that were once in the territory of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati but are no longer. Please contact the current diocese the parish resides in.
The Archives accepts genealogical requests by mail or our online form. Telephone and email requests are not accepted and we are unable to host in-person researchers. Genealogists can request up to 4 (four) specific names and sacraments with each submission (ex. 2 marriages and 2 baptisms). The Archives can only search for specific requests and is not able to research general family trees. Baptisms and marriages after 1930 and deaths after 1953 are restricted.
Payment of $25.00 is required upon submission. The payment is not refundable and if no record(s) is (are) found, we will inform the researcher what was searched. If a record is not found at the originally supposed church, the Archives will search further locally to locate the record.
Researchers are asked to be as concise as possible in their request.
