The Business Manager provides professional leadership and assistance to the President in stewardship of the financial resources of Seton High School.  The Business Manager reports directly to the President and is responsible for the preparation of the annual and long-term budgets and ongoing financial controls and reporting.  The Business Manager assumes responsibility for the effective day-to-day business affairs including supervising the tuition, accounts payable and receivable, gift donations, insurance, payroll and benefits.  The Business Manager serves as an ex-officio staff member of the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.
The Business Manager reports directly to the President and is appointed, supervised, evaluated and dismissed by the President.
Supervises: The Business Department staff members: Staff Accountant and Accounting/Payroll Specialist.  Also supervises the Spiritwear Shop Manager.
Member of: Staff liaison of the Board of Directors, serves as staff liaison on Finance Committee, Investment Committee and Building and Grounds Committee.
-Upholds and models a moral code which is consistent with the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church and mission and charism of the Sisters of Charity and Seton High School
-Establishes financial procedures in consultation with the President and Finance Chair, delineating systems and generally accepted accounting procedures (GAAP) to ensure achievement of the financial objectives of the school
-Develops long-range financial plans (3-5 years) for the school in collaboration with the Finance Committee
-Develops a process for the generation of the annual budget and works with the administration, athletic director, department chairs and Finance Committee to manage budget process
-Responsible for monthly account reconciliations and quarterly reports prepared in a timely fashion and presented to finance chair and administration
-Forecast and present any financial areas of concern for the President, Principal, Finance Committee, Board and when required for the Corporate Members, Diocese governmental agencies, etc.
-Supervises and records all purchases in accordance  with the budget and generally accepted accounting procedures (GAAP)
-Reviews and analyzes income and expenditures to ensure cash flow is properly managed
-Manages capital campaign income, expenses and cash flow as well as construction budget
-Works with the Investment Committee of the Board to assist with the management of Seton’s investments
-Coordinates, prepares and manages annual external audit of the school’s finances and serves as the school liaison with the auditors
-Performs other duties as assigned
Position Requirements: Master’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration. CPA preferred; Exceptional organizational skills, time management, confidentiality and team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills; Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and accounting software
Compensation: Salaried, exempted, commensurate with experience
Full-time position, 12 months a year, requires flexibility and some evenings and weekend activities
