Best Practices in the Stem Classroom – Presented by NKU Center for Integrative Natural Science and Mathematics (CINSAM)

Join teachers from across the archdiocese in exploring the components of excellent science instruction in a lab setting!  Sessions will be held for teachers in grades 3-5 and 6-8 at two Cincinnati area locations: Grades 3-5 on Oct. 2nd at Immaculate Heart of Mary School and on Oct. 3rd at St. James School.  Grades 6-8 will be offered on Nov. 27th at Immaculate Heart of Mary and on Nov. 28th at St. James.

Each session begins with a fishbowl where teachers observe students and an instructor from CINSAM in action.  This time is followed up by a RECAP.  RECAP stands for reflection and exploration of content, alignment, and pedagogy.  Participants will walk away with the ability to implement the practices observed and all materials necessary for carrying out an excellent STEM lesson in their own school.

We look forward to seeing our resident educators and mentors at our summer Orientation Sessions and are thrilled to welcome our new teachers to the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Catholic Schools.

For your scheduling convenience, multiple sessions are offered on different weeks throughout the summer. Please register as early as possible to ensure that you are able to attend the session that best matches your scheduling needs.  Resident Educators need to attend the session with their mentor/facilitator.

ODE has announced that the Year 3 RESA information will be released on September 15.  In anticipation of the release date, we have scheduled Orientation Sessions for Year 3.  If you are attending one of the after school sessions at Lehman or Our Lady of Victory, please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early as it will interfere with school dismissal.
