Raise Your Voices and Build a Binder for Advocacy

Area Catholics are encouraged to raise their voices out of concern for our neighbors at the Weavers of Justice All Parish Meeting Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The gathering will be in the basement of the former Holy Trinity School, 266 Bainbridge St., just outside Dayton’s Oregon District.  For a flier, click here.

Weavers is a collaborative of Catholic parishes and organizations in the greater Dayton area cultivating vibrant social ministry. Participants are asked to bring a binder that they will build up  with tips on reaching legislators on issues the Catholic Church believes will help the poor and vulnerable.

Participants will also hear from Judge James Brogan, of Dayton, who chaired the Ohio Supreme Court’s Joint Task Force and will outline its recommendations on reforming Ohio’s Death Penalty, and from Jon Gromek of Bread for the World and its work towards ending hunger for families in the United States and around the world.

The event is free, but registrations are kindly requested to assure enough handouts and food for everyone. To register call the Catholic Social Action Office at 937-224-3026 or email csadayton.org@catholiccincinnati.org
