Separated & DivorcedAll marriages experience some dark times and troubles. Despite all efforts to prepare for marriage, sometimes marriages are hurting. Retrouvaille is a weekend retreat experience intended for these troubled marriages. Through discussion, presentation, and prayer, couples are aided in conflict resolution and problem solving skills. It has been described as “a lifeline” for these marriages. A non-refundable registration deposit of $150.00 per couple is required. Please visit http://www.retrouvaille.org/ or call our office at 513.421.3131, extension 2653 for more information.
The Third Option Many of us manage marriage as a series of choices between his desires and her desires, between “peace at any price” and “letting it all hang out.” Because they tend to move us to extremes, these options don’t bring us together. With The Third Option, you can learn how to break through the clutter of past baggage and misunderstandings and build an effective, loving relationship. The Third Option is a skills-based group program that helps participants build stronger, more fulfilling marriages. Each 14-session cycle covers a comprehensive set of tools that couples can use to develop better understanding, sensitivity and trust while learning more effective speaking and listening skills. A couple can join at any point of the 14-session cycle. Meetings are held at Montgomery Community Church, 11251 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45249 on Thursday evenings: 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7701 Kenwood Road, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45236 on Monday evenings: 7:00 – 9:00 p.m (unless holiday). A donation is requested each evening. What if I Have A Good Marriage? Many couples assume that their marriage is strong and effective, and don’t invest the time to ensure that it grows better over time. Then, all it takes is new stress–problems with jobs, kids, parents, or health–and even the best marriage becomes frayed or unraveled. Developing the right skills and sensitivity is the best way to ensure that a good marriage grows even better. Please visit Third Option or call 513.489.0892, extension 4234, or email Dick and Karen Beckman at DiBeckm@aol.com for more information.
Beginning Experience The Beginning Experience is a grief recovery weekend serving those who have lost a relationship due to death of a spouse, divorce or separation. It is designed to be a time of closure on the past and renewed hope for the future. Those who come should be beyond the initial feelings of anger and despair which usually follow the loss of a loved one. They should be at the point of wanting a new beginning and ready to work to make that desire a reality. The weekend begins on Friday at 7:00 p.m., and ends Sunday, at 4:00 p.m. The cost is $150.00 per person for those who register within 6 weeks of the program or $175.00 per person for late registrants. This includes 2 nights lodging and 5 meals. A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is due with your application. Please contact Sara Cossel at 513.684.1196 or BECincinnati@fuse.net for more information. Once the application for the weekend is received, someone is available to help each person determine his or her readiness for the program. |
