Priests SalariesSALARY AND PENSION FOR PRIESTS This information is being provided so that changes might be reflected in budgets being prepared for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2013. The base salary for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2013 will be increased from the current base of $2,285.00 per month to $2,326.00 per month. This increase of 1.8% was approved by Archbishop Schnurr. The base salary for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2013 will be: $27,916.00 annual $2,326.00 monthly The Archdiocese, like most institutions, has been challenged by the effects of the current economic conditions. Nevertheless, the Archbishop has approved a modest wage increase this year. (Please note that Archdiocesan policy indicates that if priests wish to give back their salary, they are free to do so, but they are not free to turn down the salary completely.) The current seniority increment for 2013 is $16.75 per month ($201.00 per year.) The limit on professional ministerial expenses of active priests is $2,500.00 per year.
RETIRING PRIESTS FISCAL YEAR 2013-2014 Beginning July 1, 2013, the base annual pension for a retiring priest will be $26,707.00 plus Medicare benefit of $1,259.00 ($28,167.00 per year or $2,347.00 per month.) Years of service credit for retired priests was frozen June 30, 2011. If you have any questions about these matters, please contact the Human Resources Office or the Finance Office for clarification.
