The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur welcome a deceased Sister home on the day of her Wake and Mass of Christian Burial.  The format is always the same with the Scripture Reading and Closing Prayer being chosen specifically for Sister being remembered, a favorite Scripture passage, a favorite poem.      WELCOME RITE

Memorial Service 2013  During the month of November or as the calendar year ends, remembering our deceased in prayer can be most meaningful.

The Room Blessing is used when each Sister moves into our facility.  The Moderator and Pastoral Care Director lead the prayer.  The sister is asked to recite the blessing if she is able to do so.  We pray the Our Father together.  In our case we end by singing The Good God.  The Sister is given a printed copy of the blessing to hang in her room.

A Care Givers Prayer Service
During the day, we gather together to celebrate the healing and caring in which we all participate. Our hands represent the care we both give and receive. We are included in intimate moments of people’s lives. Let us celebrate the calling we have received and the work that we do. With God’s help, we truly can bring comfort, healing, and care to His people.
