Archdiocesan Respect Life Award Nominations Extended: We are pleased to announce the Archdiocesan Respect Life Award will now be presented on Sunday, January 14, 2018, the Sunday prior to the departure of our pilgrims to Washington, DC for the March for Life. Because of this, the deadline for nominations has been extended to September 8, 2017. This award recognizes those who exemplify protecting the dignity of human life in all stages, from issues of abortion to euthanasia and everything in between. The criteria used to determine the recipient will be based on the U.S. Bishops’ 2001 statement: Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities. Look for the nomination form on our website at

Does Your Parish Have an Ill-Used Convent/Rectory? Mater Filius is a non-profit organization which creates homes to help pregnant women without family support or who are experiencing financial difficulties. Mater Filius homes are run based on the key principles of the Catholic social teaching, giving mothers education and job training in a prayerful environment. Mater Filius is searching for a home / space where 5 to 12 moms can live, take care of their babies and receive their education. Mater Filius will renovate the space as needed at their own expense, AND pay monthly rent to use it. As prayer and adoration are a key component of the program, it would be ideal that a chapel was available or it was nearby a church. For more information, contact Bob Wurzelbacher at 513-421-3131 x2642.

9 Months in the Womb with Christ: From March 26th to December 25th 2017, we are again encouraging all parishes to join us in participation of this Respect Life Prayer Campaign, first introduced in 2015. This month’s reflection is on the angel Gabriel and care for the environment. Additionally, short weekly reflections are available for parishes to prayerfully chart Christ’s fetal development in their bulletins. We are also asking everyone to pray daily our special prayer to Christ in the womb. Check out our website at and click on the 9 Months with Christ image for more information. ¡También disponible en español!

Dynamic Pro-Life Priest Coming to Dayton: Fr. Stephen Imbarrato of Priests for Life is coming to the Dayton-Cincinnati area in November 2017 under the sponsorship of 40 Days for Life Dayton and Dayton Right to Life. Fr. Imbarrato is a tireless and dedicated prolife priest who is well-known nationally and has a poignant personal story involving abortion. His principal event is the closing 40 Days for Life rally at the abortion center in Kettering on Sunday, November 5. However, we expect him to be fully available for the three days of November 3-5 (Friday to Sunday). If you would like him to speak to your parish, school, or other group, please contact either Jeannette Niezgodski at or Gary Taphorn at

Dayton Right to Life – A Story to Share:Dayton Right to Life has developed a video (PPt) presentation on the battle for life as it is unfolding in the Dayton area. It covers the twin missions of Dayton Right to Life (humanitarian and advocacy), as well as the background and status of the Haskell abortion clinic in Kettering, Planned Parenthood, and related Ohio legislative and policy issues. The presentation is suitable for high school audiences and above, and can be modified in scope and duration for your parish or group. Contact Paul Coudron at 937-461-3625 or if interested in hosting at your parish.

Project Rachel is a Ministry of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati that serves anyone who has experienced a loss of a child due to abortion. There are a variety of ways persons can engage in this ministry for healing from a recent lost or a loss that occurred decades ago: one-one-one conversation with a peer, priest or deacon, consultation with a priest (we can accommodate a need for consulting in Spanish), a day of reflection for anyone who has experienced loss (mother, grandparent, father, sibling, friend, etc.) support groups and retreats for mothers who lost their child due to abortion. For more information, contact Noreen Wendeln at or call the Project Rachel Help Line at 513-784-0531 for information. All conversations and email are confidential.
