World Day of Peace Masses January 1, 2017: The Archdiocese will again celebrate two Masses on the Solemnity of Mary in commemoration of the World Day of Peace on New Year’s Day. Archbishop Dennis Schnurr will preside at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains (325 W. 8th St., Cincinnati 45202) at 11:00am; and Bishop Joseph Binzer will preside at St. Christopher Parish (435 E. National Rd., Vandalia 45377) also at 11:00am. The theme designated by the Holy Father for this upcoming World Day of Peace is “Non-Violence: a Style of Politics for Peace.” Please join us!

family-silouhetteThe Strong Catholic Families National Partnership invites ministry leaders, teachers, school leaders, parents and clergy to join together with others around the globe in a webinar series focusing on the pastoral implementation of Pope Francis’ apostolic exhortation on the family, Amoris Laetitia. Four Master Teachers will present video reflections on themes, followed by two sets of live panels reacting to the content and discussing practical applications to various ministries. Enroll in a Theology of the Body Class: Ruah Woods, Cincinnati’s Theology of the Body education center, is offering winter/spring classes for adults. The first of many 2017 classes is Theology of the Body for Young Adults: Freedom to Love Tuesday mornings beginning on Jan. 17, or Wednesday evenings beginning on Jan. 18, for 5 sessions each. The Jesuit Spiritual Center at Milford offers silent retreats rooted in The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. An experienced retreat director presents the materials on a particular theme, provides reflections on the Scriptures and offers methods of how to grow closer to God. pray-as-you-goPray-as-you-go is a free daily prayer session designed for use on your MP3 player to help you pray while traveling to and from work, study, etc. It is not a ‘Thought for the Day’, but a framework for your own prayer. Lasting from 10-13 minutes, it uses music, scripture and questions for reflection. The aim is to help you to become more aware of God’s presence in your life, listen to and reflect on God’s word, and grow in your relationship with God.
