Thirsting for More? Theology on Tap continues! T.O.T. is a lecture and discussion series for people in their 20’s and 30’s, single or married, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and Catholic parishes. We meet in a local restaurant/bar for food, drink and lively discussion about things that matter to you and the Catholic faith. Theology on Tap Cincinnati begins Tuesday April 12 at Mellow Mushroom in Hyde Park. Don’t forget that T.O.T. Dayton will begin later this Spring as well. seminarianWelcome Weekend at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary – Mount St. Mary’s Seminary of the West, is currently housing the highest number of seminarians it has seen in more than 35 years and is looking to increase that number with the help of God’s grace. Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary is hosting a welcome weekend for men, college age or older, who want to learn about discernment and priesthood, March 4-5, 2016. Attendees will spend the night at the seminary and participate in community liturgies as well as prayer, social time and talks about discernment and seminary life. Eagle Eye Ministires Campfire2016 Ohio Young Adult Summer Institute from Eagle Eye: With the theme of “Justice: The First and Necessary Step to Mercy”, this program is destined to give those who want it, a taste of what it means to be truly Catholic and in love with Christ.  For eight days, young adults, already strong in their understanding and practice of the faith, challenge themselves to a deeper appreciation and awareness of that faith.  The retreat begins Sat., August 6. After two days of hiking and camping, we will continue our journey to  Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center in Cincinnati through August 14.  The retreat includes prayer, adoration, recreation, quiet time, philosophy and theology classes, and more.  For more information go to www.eagleeyeministries.org/ohio-eesi.
Enroll in a Theology of the Body Class: Ruah Woods, Cincinnati’s Theology of the Body education center, is offering spring classes for adults:

  • Freedom to Love: An intro to TOB for young adults — Wednesdays, 7-9PM, May 5-June 2.
  • Natural Family Planning: A three session course — Sundays, 2-4 PM: June 5, July 10, and Aug 7.
  • Living a Joy-Filled Marriage: Sat., May 7.

justicewalking150Justice Walking: Are your youth or young adults seeking to respond with compassion to our world? Invite them to walk the way of Gospel justice with JusticeWalking. This prayerful process brings young people and adults into community in order to practice Gospel-based living. Over the course of the program, J-Walkers dialogue, reflect, and experiment with the application of the Gospel and Catholic social teaching to their lives. A New Setting of Ignatius Spiritual Exercises 150A Day of Reflection: The Jesuit Spiritual Center is having a Day of Reflection on Sat., March 12, 2016, from 8AM to 5PM in the Schott Pavilion. The day’s events are based on the ideas and stories from the book, A New Setting of Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises. With fourteen authors and storytellers, the book upon which the retreat is based uses ideas, stories and artwork. Cost is $40 for the day. The Jesuit Spiritual Center at Milford offers silent retreats rooted in The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. An experienced retreat director presents the materials on a particular theme, provides reflections on the Scriptures and offers methods of how to grow closer to our loving God. Retreats include daily Mass, periods for private reflection and devotions, spiritual direction, and reconciliation and healing services. A Holy Week Retreat – Fr. Michael Sparough, SJ will lead a Holy Week Retreat March 24-26. It will begin with a Seder Passover Dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Holy Thursday. You are invited to arrive a few minutes early to register and to settle into the prayerful and peaceful spirit proper for this silent retreat. The retreat includes celebration of the sacred liturgies of Holy Thursday and Good Friday, talks by Michael Sparough, SJ, time for private prayer, and private conferences. pray-as-you-goPray-as-you-go is a free daily prayer session designed for use on your MP3 player to help you pray while traveling to and from work, study, etc. It is not a ‘Thought for the Day’, but a framework for your own prayer. Lasting from 10-13 minutes, it uses music, scripture and questions for reflection. The aim is to help you to become more aware of God’s presence in your life, listen to and reflect on God’s word, and grow in your relationship with God.
