Just beginning the process of developing a parish twinning relationship can be perceived as a daunting task.  At the start, it is recommended that you contact the Archdiocesan Mission Office.  The staff can provide you with indispensable guidance, helping you to avoid some common pitfalls as you take the first steps. It is highly recommended that interested parishes develop a small exploratory parish twinning group. These individuals should begin by studying the Catholic Social Teachings of our Church as well as materials pertaining to your particular area of interest in the world, reflecting on these as you search for a twinning partner.

There are resources that give suggestions on how to begin (see links below).  Most describe a step-by-step process over months and years.  The sequence of the steps may be altered according to your individual situation.
