Tips to Building a
Healthy Relationship:
| Stay
focused and keep the Faith. It’s a long process that includes many
baby steps. If your parish has a school encourage the children to
get involved through letter writing, fund raising etc. |

When
building a twinning relationship, you are initially looking for a
mutual commitment that involves the exchanging of cultural ideas,
prayer and the learning of each other’s faith. This can be
challenging especially when adding the distance involved between
Ghana and Cincinnati. Christ the King had the benefit of having a
prior relationship with Father Lawrence Tabi the pastor of St
Anthony. He was a visiting priest at our parish for 3 years while
studying at the Athenaeum. This prior relationship has helped with
getting the parish/school to participate in the twinning experience.
We felt this was a key point in moving the process forward. A number
of parishioners visited St Anthony Parish in the summer of 2005.We
experienced first hand the friendliest and most giving group of
people. We are now in the process of bringing over 4 parishioners
and Father Lawrence to Christ The King some time this summer or
early fall. Twinning is a process that certainly has its challenges.
Many prayers, meetings and baby steps have been taken to establish
this relationship. We are so glad we made the commitment to move
forward in the twinning process. |
