Mission Statement

The African Solidarity Project (ASP) is an effort to create a climate of awareness, education and advocacy on Africa, leading the Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati to a state of solidarity with the peoples of Africa, their hopes, their struggles, their joys and their sorrows.


Membership

  • ASP welcomes any individual or organization wishing to work for the good of Africa
  • ASP does not intend to replace any existing African organization
  • ASP is not a fund raising organization

 

Plan of Action

1)      Study: the ASP will create a program of study and basic education for its members and for the Catholics of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

2)      Social Analysis: the ASP will engage in a social analysis of African issues

3)      Theological Reflection: the ASP will examine these issues in light of Catholic Social Teaching

4)      Action: the ASP will develop an action plan for issues to advocate. Possible plans would include:

a.       Culture and celebration

b.      Education and advocacy

c.       Corporate responsibility/ responsible investment

d.      Twinning and Travel
