Reflection:
|
Again we find the disciples of Jesus locked in a room away from the world that they so feared. Again, we find Jesus appearing to them extending his peace. This time he also “breathes” into them the Holy Spirit to give them the strength they need to face what is ahead. The first step is to open the locked door and step out into the world. When in your life have you been challenged to “open the locked door”? Where did your strength come from?

God of all Creation You gather us in your steadfast love to continue the work begun in your Son, Jesus Christ. Send us the gift of your Holy Spirit that we might open our hearts to your word. Give us the courage to preach the gospel with great trust in you, and the strength to live the gospel as your adopted children. We ask you to bless our work this day that we might be faithful to the call of your Son to bring justice, peace, compassion, and mercy to all. We ask this through your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen |
