CATECHIST CERTIFICATION OPTIONS

There are several ways to obtain certification for Parish Catechists, Adult Faith Formation Catechist, RCIA team members and Catholic School Catechists. Listed below are a few acceptable methods.

Live Presentations		Video Assisted Courses		Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation (VLCFF) University of Dayton
Attend a scheduled course from one to five sessions All materials are provided An assignment may be required Courses are available at sites in your area of the Archdiocese Print Cincinnati area Calendar Print Dayton area Calendar Print Northern Area Calendar		Participate in a small group process Date and time set by the facilitator Video presentation and discussion material provided Written assignment is requested for completion. Self-directed internet course You participate on your own time Schedule of reading and assignments is provided Course is completed in a certain number of weeks You purchase class materials.
	VLCFF Course Title Catholic Beliefs Introduction to Scripture Old Testament and New Testament* Church History I and II* Basic Ecclesiology Sacraments Jesus Catholic Social Teaching I and II* Intro to Christian Morality Introduction to Liturgy		Archdiocesan Course Title Basic Beliefs Introduction to Scripture Hebrew and Christian Scriptures Church History Church: Vision, Mission, Ministry Sacraments Jesus Justice and Peace Christian Morality Liturgy and Rites
*Both course must be taken in order to fulfill all the learning objectives established by the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis
