In this DVD, originally aired on ABC_TV, a fascinating group of adults from various traditions, come together to seek adult Baptism into the Catholic Church at St. James Cathedral in Seattle. The Adult Journey to Baptism follows both the catechumens and candidates in the year-round RCIA process of education and initiation culminating at the Easter Vigil. A vibrant and moving experience of the adult spiritual journey is presented.

This video is a tool to help recruit and train sponsors for the RCIA process in parishes. It follows the Catholic Update format of story, witness, teaching and prayer. It affirms the unique and necessary ministry of the sponsor in the RCIA process.

While this presentation, featuring Archbishop Pilarczyk, is addressed to RCIA candidates it contains elements that make it a treasure for anyone serious about the faith journey that we all make. It is informational as well as formational regarding the role of the Archbishop as such and the role that each of us has in God's eternal plan.

This video presentation gives a good explanation of the catechumenate process whereby people prepare themselves for initiation into the Catholic Church. Each period, step and rite in the process is clearly explained. New members of an initiation team, veteran members and entire parish communities will benefit as each recognizes the role they play in the process.

The Catholic Update Video program explores the images associated with the Sacrament of Baptism and the nature of Baptism as an initiation into Christ. The story segment (10 minutes), Called By Name, explores the rich concepts of death and resurrection by weaving four contemporary vignettes with scenes from the Easter vigil baptismal ceremonies. The witness segment (5 minutes) features the thoughts and feelings of ordinary Catholics who have been through the RCIA. Father Tom Richstatter, in the teaching segment (5 minutes), explores the experience of Christians from the time of the apostles until the present day. The video concludes with a music reflection (3 minutes) on the living out of our baptismal commitment. Each segment can be used independently of the others.

This Catholic Update Video contains 4 segments that encourage individuals to reflect on their personal faith experience in light of the RCIA. The story segment (10 minutes) is a modern day parable about a harried businessman setting out on a fishing trip. When he loses his map and his car breaks down, he has to rely on his own ability to follow directions. He learns that detours on a journey can lead to new discoveries. In the witness segment (5 minutes), real-life Catholics share how their journeys led them to discoveries of faith. Father Tom Richstatter explains how one "becomes a Catholic" and outlines the stages of the RCIA in the teaching segment (5 minutes). The program concludes with a music video reflection (3 minutes). Each segment can stand alone.

In this video the elect and candidates are followed from the celebration of the third scrutiny during Lent through their baptisms and receptions at the Easter Vigil to Easter Sunday morning. Involved members describe their experiences of Christian initiation.

This video tells the inquirer what the RCIA is all about in a manner which is understandable and inspirational. It helps one become comfortable with its process and aware of how important the question of true conversion really is.

Richard Fragomeni talks about the conversion process as a life-long process. Initiation is a gift of the Spirit that brings a total reorientation of the human personality and human community. Study guide included.

This is an explanation of the RCIA process from beginning to end, from the pre-catechumenate through mystagogia. The presentation includes actual participants---priests, RCIA directors, catechists, sponsors and catechumens---who give insights into what the process meant to them and their life in the Church.

This video has three parts: 1) A dramatic enactment of the sponsor-candidate relationship. 2) A talk on RCIA and the vital role of the sponsor given by Rev. James Dunning. 3) Statements by some sponsors on the joys and struggles of their role.

Jerry Pare' gives a general overview of the four periods of RCIA: Precatechumenate, Catechumenate, Purification and Enlightenment, and Mystagogia. Catechumens and candidates explain the periods and rites of RCIA by remembering and reflecting on the experiences that brought them to the Easter Vigil. Study guide included.
