On August 02, 2016 StoneBridge Business Partners wrote to the Most Reverend Dennis M. Schnurr, Archbishop of Cincinnati, to advise that the Archdiocese of Cincinnati was in compliance with the data collection requirements for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (“USCCB”) Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People during the audit period July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016.
StoneBridge is an audit firm based in Rochester, NY. The USCCB retained StoneBridge to monitor Catholic dioceses’ compliance with the Charter. Every three years, StoneBridge conducts a live, face to face, audit. The Archdiocese of Cincinnati had its last previous live audit in October 2014.
The Archdiocese implemented the VIRTUS® Child Protection Training Program in June, 2012. We trained over 400 VIRTUS® Facilitator / Trainers. Those Facilitators, in turn, trained over 45,000 adults all across the Archdiocese.
SELECTION.COM has been selected as our third party background check administrator. Since January, 2014, approximately 29,000 people have completed the on-line background check through SELECTION.COM.
As he has in the past, Archbishop Schnurr continues to urge that anyone who was abused as a child by a cleric, employee, volunteer or any other representative of the Archdiocese, or who knows someone who was abused, to report such abuse immediately to their appropriate Civil Authorities. Reports should also be made to Cherie Groman, the Archdiocese Coordinator of Ministry to Survivors of Abuse, at (513) 263-6623.
