Hosted by Greater Cincinnati Environmental Educators.  Hands-on classes to investigate science!  Environmental Education exhibitors, door prizes, food and beverages. 
Educators participating in The Ultimate Educator Expo are eligible to earn graduate credit from the University of Cincinnati, through the Economics Center for Education and Research. This credit option does not require any previous registration with the university or payment of any additional university fees. XAVIER'S NEW TEACHER ACADEMY FLYER AND APPLICATION

XAVIER NEW TEACHER ACADEMY:  EASING THE TRANSITION
Xavier University has been awarded a grant from the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation to develop and implement Xavier’s New Teacher Academy, a comprehensive induction program supporting the needs of  first-, second-, and third-year teachers in the Greater Cincinnati area.  The Academy is a pilot program and will be offered free of charge to 30  first-, second-, and third- year teachers in the Greater Cincinnati area during the 2010-2011 academic year.  Applications are currently being accepted from interested first-, second,- or third-year teachers.  Sessions for this free training start August 16.  To download the flyer with complete information and registration application, click the link on the left. *Space is limited. The Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI) is providing this professional development opportunity.   OCALI will open their computer lab and lending library so participants can gain hands-on experience with assistive technology.  Participants will create their own personal assistive technology learning plan and as a culminating activity will produce a final project they can use in their classrooms for the 2010-11 school year.   Seating is limited due to the hands-on nature of the training.  Registration deadline August 3.

Xavier University presents this one-day professional development workshop.  A Professional Learning Community (PLC) is educators committed to working collaboratively for the improvement of student learning and achievement.  This workshop is designed to continue and reinforce the work many Archdiocese schools began by attending various PLC workshops over the past few years.  This in-service is appropriate for those beginning the PLC process in their schools.  Schools are encouraged to bring a team of educators to enhance the implementation and sustainability of the PLC process in Catholic schools.  To download the flyer with complete information and registration application, click the link on the left.  Application deadline Sept. 8.

OHIO WRITING PROJECT WORKSHOPS - GRADES K-12

The University of Cincinnati is offering a new online Master's program that is flexible, affordable, and high quality.  It has many benefits for teachers.  As few as 14-18 quarter hours with reduced tuition can earn license endorsement areas such as ESL, Gifted/Differentiated Instruction, National Board Preparation and others.  These same hours can be part of the Master's Program in Curriculum and Instruction.  This master's program will help candidates move to the Lead Teacher license in Ohio's new licensure structure.  To help make the degree more affordable, UC has set aside a limited number of $1,500 scholarships.
