The Ohio Department of Education is requiring that all Entry Year Teachers attend an Entry Year Praxis Orientation Meeting with the Regional Praxis Coordinator. The purpose of this meeting is to get firsthand information and details about the Praxis III, and answer any questions that you may have about the process. This meeting is required for all Entry Year Teachers who will be Praxis III assessed in the spring of 2009. Mentors are invited, but not required to attend. These meetings are set up by geographic region. If you do not attend this meeting, you cannot be Praxis III assessed. INSTITUTE ON READING AND DYSLEXIA (I REaD)
I REaD is a professional development opportunity to enhance educators' and related professionals' knowledge based on current understanding of reading development and dyslexia, on empirically-supported, state-of-the-art reading interventions, and on cutting-edge research on dyslexia and other reading difficulties. Teachers Academy prepares high school teachers with tools and resources to be equipped to teach financial education to Ohio's high school students. Ohio Teacher Academy curriculums have been co-developed by the Ohio Department of Education, Ohio Council on Economic Education and the Ohio Treasurer's Office. Fifteen academies are scheduled throughout Ohio for 2008. Each of the academies will focus on participants being actively involved in a variety of strategies that demonstrate the concepts and principles of basic economics and personal finance.
