Mission Statement
The Catholic Social Action Office and Commission seek to empower Archdiocesan parishes, schools, Rural Life Conferences and other faith communities in the diocese to bring forth the gospel call for peace and justice by:
- developing and/or supporting education and action efforts;
- maintaining efficient, collaborative networks;
- nurturing a spirituality of peace and justice.
The office will act as a representative of the archdiocese to support the larger pluralistic community in the movement for peace and justice by:
- participating in local, state, national and international coalitions;
- resourcing grassroots organizations, financially and otherwise through the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and Catholic Relief Services;
- advocating for local, state, national, and international issues related to the common good.
