Salt and Light Program: Training in Catholic Social Teaching and Parish Social Ministry

Salt and Light is a program designed adult Catholics to facilitate the integration of the Church's social mission into the life of the parish. The program, consisting of five two and a half hour sessions, focuses on Catholic social teaching, prayer, and skill development for social justice ministry.

Journey to Justice Retreat

Journey to Justice is a transformative education process designed by the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) to bring together members of Catholic parishes and CCHD-funded groups so that they might better understand and act on the causes of poverty and injustice. The main event of the Journey to Justice is a weekend retreat providing parishioners the opportunity to: Immerse themselves in Scripture and Catholic social teaching; Interact with empowered low-income groups who are effecting changes in their situation; Commit themselves anew to the struggle for a more just society.

Retreat details:
Number of Participants: 20-25
Cost: determined by the parish (includes things like meals, materials, etc.)
Facilitators: The Catholic Social Action office trains a retreat team from the parish.
Time: Usually Friday evening through Sunday afternoon (participants return to their own home in the evenings).

JustFaith

Justfaith is an in-depth adult faith formation program designed to deepen understanding of and commitment to the Gospel's call to build a more just society. The program involves prayer, reading, discussion, faith sharing, journaling, videos, guest speakers, actions, and a supportive community.
