Keep Calm and Tear Down the Walls

Allowing another person a glimpse into your soul is actively participating in creating those moments in which the change within may happen. It’s one of those cool instances when the giver becomes the one receiving, and the one receiving becomes the giver. Each of us is beautifully unique and we all have so much to offer to each other – even when we think we don’t. We are all drawn to those around us who seem to be unafraid of letting their light shine and their soul show (like Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr, …

Christ at the Center: Home Edition

January 19, 2014: 2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time Gospel: John 1:29-34 John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. On the weekend of October 19-20, 2012, I was a participant at Mission Connect 2012 that was held at Good Shepherd Parish. I really had not prepared myself for meeting the Christ at this event, but my eyes were soon opened by the wisdom of Sr. Janice McLaughlin, MM, the keynote speaker.  Sr. McLaughlin gave me a wonderful phrase from the African culture for transformation, “to be uprooted.”  This phrase I held onto as I drove home, as I slept and as I returned to Mission Connect the next morning.  I was wrestling with the …
