A faith-filled gathering of friends
DAYTON DEANERY — Father Gerald R. Haemmerle, pastor of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Kettering and former president/rector of the Athenaeum of Ohio/Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, was given the Athenaeum Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumnus Award Aug. 17 at the association’s reunion at Bergamo Center in Dayton.


Schools embark on journeys of mission
ARCHDIOCESE — Schools from throughout the Archdiocese of Cincinnati always have been engaged in service projects, and in recent years, many Catholic high schools have embarked on overseas mission trips or service ventures in the United States. Three schools, Roger Bacon High School, Moeller High School and St. Ursula Academy were among those sending students on these trips.


Cincinnati Hispanic Fest largest in region
ARCHDIOCESE — Volunteers, exhibitors and, of course, guests, are invited to attend the annual Cincinnati Hispanic Festival, held at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds Sept. 8-9.


Group aims to preserve Mercy Sisters’ values at schools order founded
ERIE, Pa. — Martin Larrey’s passion is history. He has taught college students the history of Latin America, 16th- and 17th-century Europe and the ancient world.


Sisters of Charity renew vows, celebrate jubilees
ARCHDIOCESE — Ten Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati celebrated 50 years as religious during a Golden Jubilee Liturgy held July 21 in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception at the Sister’s Motherhouse, Delhi Township.
