Conversion leads to life of service

DAYTON DEANERY - For Brad Duncan, professor of electrical and computer engineering and electro-optics at the University of Dayton, the road to the Lay Pastoral Ministry Program (LPMP) at the Athenaeum of Ohio began when he was a student at Virginia Tech.


Rosary rally held at Elder High School
ST. LAWRENCE DEANERY - A prayerful gathering commemorating the importance of the rosary was held May 20 at Elder High School's infamous "Pit," where hundreds gathered to pray the rosary, sing Marian hymns and observe the benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.


Peace Bridge event draws hundreds

DAYTON DEANERY - Several hundred people who gathered at the Third Street Bridge recently prayed together, heard the lessons of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi and listened to excerpts of a speech by Nelson Mandela.


CSS World Refugee Day celebration set for June 23

ARCHDIOCESE - Catholic Social Services of Southwestern Ohio is holding its fourth World Refugee Day Celebration on June 23 from 3-7 p.m. in the Pastoral Center at the Athenaeum of Ohio.


St. Vincent De Paul fan drive seeks to collect 500 units
ARCHDIOCESE - The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP), in cooperation with WCPO-TV Channel 9, Coney Island, Huntington Bank and Cincinnati Firefighters Union Local 48, is asking Greater Cincinnati residents to help local families in need by donating a fan, new window air conditioner or monetary donation to support the annual fan drive.
