Brother Brutus Clay

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated April 8 for Jesuit Brother Brutus Clay, 90, at Colombiere Center in Clarkston, Mich. He died April 2 in Michigan.

Brother Clay was a Jesuit for 58 years. He served at Loyola University in Chicago, Xavier University in Cincinnati, the Jesuit Curia in Rome and in Zambia.

He is survived by his brother, Catesby Clay.

Interment was in Colombiere cemetery.

Sister Mary Assunta Stang

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated April 11 for Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Mary Assunta Stang, 88, at the motherhouse chapel in Cincinnati. She died April 7 at Mother Margaret Hall following 66 years of service as a Sister of Charity.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in business education from the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati. Her first assignment was in Marion, Oh., where she taught business courses, home economics and typing for seven years. She served in hospital administration in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Michigan and Colorado Springs.

In 1965, Sister Mary Assunta was elected executive treasurer of the community until 1971, when she was elected president of the congregation, serving an eight-year term.

Sister Mary Assunta began a ministry with the poor of Brazil in 1981.

Returning to Cincinnati in 1983, she was elected executive treasurer of the congregation again and served as administrative director of the Seton Enablement Fund, which empowers the poor to develop skills to become self-sufficient. She retired to the motherhouse in 2002.

She is survived by three sisters, Sister of Charity S. Kathleen Stang of Cincinnati,

Helen Trame and Mary Hochwalt.

Interment was in the convent cemetery.

Louella Raudabaugh

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated April 12 for Louella Raudabaugh, 98, at St. Boniface Church in Piqua. The Piqua native died April 9

She was a member of the St. Clara Society and St. Margaret’s Auxiliary and past president of both at St. Boniface Church. She was past president of Sidney Deanery Council of Catholic Women and Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women and a member of the Leisure Club of St. Boniface and St. Mary parishes, as well as many secular organizations. She managed the cafeteria at St. Boniface School for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Pauline Hennessey of Kettering; and her son,

Father Joseph Raudabaugh of West Milton.

Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua.
