Xavier forms graduate business school

ST. FRANCIS DE SALES DEANERY — Xavier University this year has formed a Graduate School of Business in the Williams College of Business (WCB). Raghu Tadepalli, associate WCB Dean, will serve as the dean of the graduate school while continuing his duties as associate WCB dean.

Tadepalli has been at Xavier since 1997 and is also a professor of marketing. He has won many awards for his teaching and research and continues to teach in the MBA programs and also publish in academic journals. He has an MBA from Arizona State University and his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech.

"The formation of the Graduate School of Business within the Williams College of Business, allows us to continue to enhance the reputation of our academic programs," said Ali Malekzadeh, Dean of the WCB.

From its inception more than 50 years ago, the business college, later named the Williams College of Business, has attracted outstanding faculty, students, and staff, and served the community. In the past five years, in addition to being re-accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, the MBA Program has achieved unprecedented growth, and national prominence in the quality of its programs.

"WCB’s part-time MBA program is ranked 16th in the nation by U.S. News and World Report," said academic vice president and Provost Roger Fortin

The creation of a Graduate School of Business follows the same path as several other Jesuit schools, including Marquette, Loyola Chicago, Fordham, Gonzaga and the University of San Francisco.
