Sister Elizabeth Marie Krownapple

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 20 for Carmelite Sister Elizabeth Marie Krownapple, 91, a member of the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, at St. Margaret Hall in Cincinnati. She died June 15 at St. Margaret Hall. She served as a Sister for 71 years.

A native of Colorado, she grew up in Akron. She was stationed in many of the facilities of the Carmelite Sisters, but she served the past 44 years at St. Margaret Hall caring for the elderly.

Interment was in the convent cemetery.

Sister Mary Petronia Krietemeyer

A Mass of Christian Burial for Precious Blood Sister Mary Petronia Krietemeyer, 96, was held at Salem Heights on Aug. 2. Sister Mary died July 29 at Maria Joseph Living Care Center in Dayton. She had been a Sister of the Precious Blood for 76 years.

A native of Ottoville, she entered the Sisters of the Precious Blood in 1930 and spent 54 years in domestic services primarily as a housekeeper and food service worker. She served in seminaries in Cincinnati, Cathagena and Denver, Colo. and in convents in Ottoville, Indiana and North Dakota. She also ministered at St. Louis Church in Cincinnati. She retired to Salem Heights in 1987. She moved to Maria Joseph Living Care Center in 2002 because of declining health.

Interment was in Salem Heights Cemetery.

Jacob, Sydney and Mary Ann Wittich

Masses of Christian Burial were celebrated at St. Dominic Church in Cincinnati on Aug. 4 for 10-year-old Jacob Wittich and his 7-year-old sister, Sydney, students at the parish school who were killed July 31.

The funeral for their mother, Mary Ann Wittich, 44, was celebrated at St. Dominic on Aug. 6. Father Chris Lack, associate pastor, officiated at the masses.

On Aug. 1, the parish held a prayer service and a discussion for parents on how to explain the tragic double-murder/suicide to their children. Staffers from the Fernside Center for Grieving Children were on hand. The school offered counseling to anyone in need on Aug. 3.

The children are survived by their father, John, and two sisters, Kathryn and Lindsey.

The family has requested that contributions be made to the St. Dominic Tuition Fund, 4551 Delhi Road, Cincinnati 45238, in memory of Jacob and Sydney.

Donald Meyer

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Aug. 7 for Donald Meyer, 81, at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Cincinnati. He died Aug. 2.

He is survived by his wife, Rita; his sons, Deacon Don Meyer Jr., deacon at St. John the Baptist in Harrison, Andrew, Doug, Dan, Dennis and Joe Meyer; his daughters, Mary Ann Briggs, Rita Kettler and Janet Lees; his brother, Richard; and sisters, Jean Fagin and Norma Meyer.

Interment was in St. Joseph Mausoleum in Price Hill.
