Sister Rita Frances
(M. Vitalis) Klein

A Mass of Christian Burial for Precious Blood Sister Rita Frances Klein, 86, was held at Salem Heights on Jan. 23. She died Jan. 19 at Maria Joseph Living Care Center in Dayton. She had been a Sister of the Precious Blood for 67 years.

A native of Cleveland, she entered the Sisters of the Precious Blood in 1941. Sister spent over 40 years in education. She taught in elementary schools at Mesa, Phoenix and Casa Grande, in Ariz.; at Resurrection, Precious Blood and St. Rita’s in Dayton; at Fort Recovery, Ottoville, Cleveland, Glandorf and New Riegel also in Ohio; and at Fort Wayne, Ind.

Sister Rita Frances retired to Salem Heights Convent in Dayton in 1992. Failing health necessitated her move to the Maria Joseph Living Care Center in 2007.

She is survived by two sisters, Ruth Warman of Port Richey, Fla., and Jeanne Ferguson of Lee’s Summit, Mo.

Interment was in Salem Heights Cemetery.

Sister Marlene
(M. Yvette) Voisard

A Mass of Christian Burial for Precious Blood Sister Marlene Voisard, 73, was held at Salem Heights on Jan. 24. She died Jan. 19 at Maria Joseph Living Care Center in Dayton. She had been a Sister of the Precious Blood for 55 years.

A native of Dayton, she entered the Sisters of the Precious Blood in 1953 and taught for 20 years in elementary schools in Linton, N.D.; Wapakoneta; Miamisburg, and Coldwater. She then did volunteer work in St. Mary’s. She moved to Salem Heights in 1988.

In 1996, Sister Marlene, who suffered from multiple sclerosis, took up residency at the Maria Joseph Living Care Center. In 1999 the Multiple Society in Dayton selected her as ambassador for that year’s MS Walk.

She is survived by her brother, Edward of St. Mary’s, Ohio, and two sisters, Ruthann Voisard and Clara Jane Kayser, both of Lima, Ohio.

Interment was in Salem Heights Cemetery.
