| Sister Ann Tumulty
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Feb. 22 for Dominican Sister of Hope Ann Tumulty at St. Elizabeth Church in Linden, N.J. She died Feb. 19 at the age of 75.
A native of Jersey City, N.J., she made her final profession in 1958. She earned a bachelors degree in nursing from Pace University and a masters in theological studies from Maryknoll School of Theology. Her ministry was primarily in the field of nursing with the Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor in Ossining, N.Y.; Boston, Mass.; Dayton, and Denver, Colo.
From 1987-2000, she worked as director of home health and then as a counselor in workforce development. In 2000, she began doing parish outreach at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Newark. She retired from active ministry in 2006.
Interment was in the Dominican Sisters of Hope Cemetery in Ossining.
Sister Merry Marcotte
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Feb. 22 for Sister of Providence Merry Marcotte at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Louisville, Ky. She died Feb. 17 at Marian Home in Louisville.
A native of Detroit, Mich., she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Providence in 1974 and professed her final vows in 1984. She earned a bachelors degree from the University of North Carolina and a masters from Duke University. Before entering the order, she served with the American National Red Cross in a military hospital in Vietnam. In the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, she served in the Domestic Violence Outreach Program in Cincinnati from 1994-95.
She is survived by her brother, Charles of Houston, Texas.
Interment was in the convent cemetery in St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind.
