Sister Mary Ann Kramer
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 1 for Sister of Charity Mary Ann Kramer, 84, at the Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse chapel in Delhi Township. She died May 28 at Mother Margaret Hall.
A native of Cincinnati, she earned a bachelor's in education from the teachers' college of the Athenaeum of Ohio, a bachelor's in English from the College of Mount St. Joseph, and a master's in education from Xavier University.
She began her teaching career in 1945 at St. Lawrence School in Cincinnati. In 1947, she served at Holy Angels School in Sidney. In 1950, she began serving special needs students at Springer School in Cincinnati, 11 years as a teacher and four as principal. She was principal/superior at St. Joseph Orphanage from 1965-67 and then taught at St. William School in Price Hill. In 1968, she began teaching remedial reading at Seton High School. In 1974, she served at St. Jude School in Bridgetown and joined St. Gabriel School in Glendale in 1981, where she also served as principal. In 1988, she became head teacher of the GED program at North Fairmount Adult Education Center, working with special needs adults. She retired in 1994.
She is survived by her sisters, Margaret Kreimer and Rita Kramer.
Interment was in the motherhouse cemetery.
