ST. LAWRENCE DEANERY - A prayerful gathering commemorating the importance of the rosary was held May 20 at Elder High School's infamous "Pit," where hundreds gathered to pray the rosary, sing Marian hymns and observe the benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Presiding at the gathering was Father James Walsh, pastor at St. Dominic Church in Price Hill. Taking part in the solemn occasion were local priests and deacons, first communicants, local high school rosary participants, numerous councils of the Knights of Columbus, members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and choirs from various churches and schools. Also this year, Catholic vocalist Tatiana sang at the gathering.
