Sister Marie (Jamesine) Langhals

A Mass of Christian Burial for Precious Blood Sister Marie Langhals, 71, was held at Salem Heights on June 4. Sister Langhals died May 30 at Maria Joseph Living Care Center in Dayton. She had been a Sister of the Precious Blood for 52 years.

A native of Columbus Grove, she entered the Sisters of the Precious Blood in 1954 and received the name Sister Mary Jamesine.

She spent 13 years teaching in elementary schools in Ohio. In 1973 she began catechetical ministry and served as teacher and/or director of religious education in St. Henry, Fairborn, and Zanesville. She was a pastoral minister at Ascension Parish in Dayton and at St. Mary Parish in Delaware. She served as the director of novices for the Sisters of the Precious Blood from 1992 until her death.

She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Wilson of Seattle, WA., Patricia Neils of Libby, MT, and Julie Eggenton of Maumee, and Kelly Anderson of Arlington, VA. She is also survived by her brothers, Elmer and Alvin of Columbus Grove, Ken of Delphos and Henry of Gahanna.

Final interment was in Salem Heights Cemetery.
