Sister Marie Evelyn
(M. Theodora) Moorma

A Mass of Christian Burial for Precious Blood Sister Marie Evelyn Moorman, 83, was held at Salem Heights on March 6. Sister Klein died March 1 at Maria Joseph Living Care Center in Dayton. She had been a Sister of the Precious Blood for 66 years.
A native of Russia, she entered the Sisters of the Precious Blood in 1941. Sister spent over 37 years serving in seminaries, pilgrim houses, convents, homes for the aged and bishops’ residences in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. She also served as a live-in companion to the elderly in Swanton and Russia.

In 1992 she "actively" retired to Salem Heights in Dayton where she continued to minister by serving as a driver for

Sisters in need of transportation. Failing health necessitated her move to the Maria Joseph Living Care Center in 2006.

She is survived by her brother, Ray, of Dayton.

Interment was in Salem Heights Cemetery.

Sister Ellen Murphy

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated March 5 for Dominican Sister Ellen M. Murphy (Rita Anne) at St. Catherine Chapel at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Mich.

She died March 1 at the age of 84 in the 66th year of her religious profession.

A native of Toledo, she received a bachelor of arts degree in Latin from Barry College (University) in Miami, Fla., a master of arts in Latin from Loyola University in Chicago and a master of education degree in guidance and student personnel from the University of Dayton.

She spent 49 years ministering in education in Chicago, Florida, Detroit and Dayton. She was in administration at the University of Dayton from 1971-91 and an academic counselor from 1991-97. She retired to the Dominican Life Center in 1998.

Interment was in the congregation cemetery.

Sister Adelaide Zink

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated March 5 for Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Francis Adelaide Zink, 94, at the motherhouse chapel in Delhi Township. She died March 1 at Mother Margaret Hall.

A native of Wapakoneta, she entered the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati in 1934. She earned a bachelor of arts in English from the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati.

She ministered in intermediate and junior high school education in Chicago, Denver, Albuquerque, N.M., and at St. Rose in Lima, St. Michael School in Findlay, and St. Raphael School in Springfield (1962-65). She also served in Michigan and Colorado.
In 1973, she began working in medical records in Santa Fe, N.M., and later at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo. She moved to the motherhouse in Mount St. Joseph in 1989 to become the receptionist at Seton Hall.

After she retired in 1993, she served as a docent at the Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann

Seton in Emmitsburg, Md., for 13 years.

She is survived by her sister, Marie Zink.

Interment was in the motherhouse cemetery.
