LaSalle community reaches out to teacher’s family

ARCHDIOCESE — The LaSalle High School community is reaching out to help support social studies teacher Andrew Farfsing, whose 14-month old daughter Rachel has recently been diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia, Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML).

The faculty, staff and students have donated more than $10,000 to support the Farfsing family and help defray the rising medical expenses. The recent student mission collection at LaSalle raised $8,487.68 for the Farfsing family, a $10.47 average per student. This is the largest, single-day collection in LaSalle’s history. Friends of the Farfsing family have also organized a golf outing fundraiser on Oct. 6 at Glenview Golf Course to support the cause.

Rachel Farfsing will be going through a minimum of seven months of chemotherapy treatment at Childrens Hospital. Please visit www.rachelfarfsing.com http://www.rachelfarfsing.com/ to help the Farfsing family and find out more information.
