WHAT IS TCL?
TRAINING CHRISTIAN LEADERS (TCL) IS A 3½ DAY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE FOR YOUTH from the parishes and schools of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Many of our most promising young leaders will gather at TCL for an intensive program of community-building, leadership development and fun-with-a-purpose.  Young leaders leave TCL with new friendships, treasured memories of a terrific time, and...
  • Enhanced leadership skills and tools

  • Deepened faith

  • A vision of Christ's servant leadership

  • More commitment, desire & "fire"

WHO IS IT FOR? WHAT WILL WE DO?

TCL 2008 IS OPEN TO HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH IN THE GRADUATING CLASSES OF 2009-2012. The program benefits those already in leadership in their parish or high school - and those who show promise for future leadership. TCL is especially helpful to parishes just beginning a youth ministry. Young people leave with an exciting vision of youth ministry and equipped with the spirit, tools and skills to start making that vision a reality. Past TCL participants include:

  • PARISH & HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS MINISTRY YOUTH LEADERS

  • CORE TEAMS

  • STUDENT COUNCIL MEMBERS

  • YOUTH RETREAT TEAMS

  • PEER MINISTERS

  • MEMBERS OF SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS

Young people at TCL have a great time making new friends, enjoying the pool, the outdoors, the ropes courses, etc., etc. But the great stuff doesn't stop there! Participants grow in SELF-CONFIDENCE, in FAITH and in their ABILITY TO LEAD. Topics include:

TEAM LEADERSHIP
PLANNING SKILLS
MOTIVATION & INSPIRATION
LEADERSHIP AS DISCIPLESHIP
OUTREACH & RECRUITING
TEAM-BUILDING TECHNIQUES
BUILDING EFFECTIVE YOUTH MINISTRY
TIME MANAGEMENT
LEADING PRAYER & WORSHIP
WALK YOUR TALK &TALK YOUR WALK

The bottom line: TCL forms leaders who follow Jesus as their model and mentor. Through daily prayer, community living, small support groups and sharing, young people learn about the servant leadership that Jesus taught by example.
