     Catechetical Ministry

 A mini-course of
four 2 1/2 hour sessions
on 4 consecutive Wednesdays
in Fall 2009

 

 

For Youth Ministers,
Parish Catechists of Grades 7-12
and other youth-serving Adults

 

Course Description:

Oct. 21   Session I: The Vocation and Ministry of the Catechist
Explore the role of a youth catechist in the context of the role of the family and parish in supporting and sustaining effective youth ministry.

Oct. 28   Session II:  Catechetical Process
Develop effective sessions that hit the mark every time.

Nov. 4  Session III:  The Creative Catechist
How to use age-appropriate resources, activities, techniques and ideas to create effective learning experiences for younger and older adolescents.

Nov. 11    Session IV:  Catholic Identity
Develop a sense of what is foundational and unique to the Catholic faith and how to help young people embrace Catholicism as a way of life.
