What is the age limit for traveling to WYD 2008
World Youth Day 2008 is designed for pilgrims within
the age range of 16-35. The event is open, however, to people outside of
that age range, with some restrictions.
There is no upper age limit for attendance, but chaperones over the age of
65 on July 15, 2008 are not eligible for the emergency health insurance
that is provided in the pilgrim packages.
The Archdiocese does not have an official policy of minimum age for
chaperones at World Youth Day, but the OYYAM strongly suggests that adult
chaperones for teenagers be at least 21 years of age.
Pilgrims under 16 years of age as of December 31,
2008 may only attend World Youth Day 2008 with at least one parent.
